Short impressions from sacred places: In this third short impression from the Table Mountain Range at the southern tip of Africa, Megan Lindow reflects on a powerful sonic intervention to celebrate the sacred cultural, ecological and spiritual power this beloved mountain, known to the San first peoples as Hoerikwaggo, holds for all her human and more than human inhabitants.

Short impressions from sacred places: February is the hottest, driest time of year on Table Mountain, South Africa. But in the small, hidden rocky crevices where it is cool and moist, this is the month when the Red Disas, Africa's largest orchid, come into fleeting, spectacular bloom. Megan Lindow hiked through a beautiful remnant of indigenous forest to experience their striking beauty, also glimpsing Cape Town's water predicament.
